The 2025 WorldSBK and WorldSSP campaigns are set up for lights out, read below for the times of the weekend’s specific events
Australia’s highly-anticipated, high-octane season opener is days away from kicking off. Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit will play host to the first chapter of 2025’s FIM MOTUL Superbike World Championship saga, where all your favorite WorldSBK riders are back in action, and joined by a cadre of talented rookies. New rules and regulations added a new factor to the offseason’s prep work for the teams, and inclement weather further complicated the various teams’ implementation of new tech to their bikes.
The weekend’s action will kick off on Friday morning with the FIM Supersport World Championship Free Practice at 10:25 local time (+11 UTC), followed shortly after by WorldSBK’s Free Practice 1 at 11:20 (+11 UTC). Friday afternoon will see the beginning of the WorldSSP season’s racing with the Tissot Superpole event at 14:55 (+11 UTC). WorldSBK action will follow at 16:00 with FP2, and continue into Saturday, when at 10:00 there will be the third and final FP3 will take place. Saturday afternoon will see the start of 2025’s SBK® racing at 13:00 (+11 UTC) the Tissot Superpole will take place, followed by WorldSSP’s Race 1 at 14:30, and WorldSBK’s Race 1 at 16:00. Sunday will close out the season-opening weekend in the afternoon when at 13:00 WorldSBK will have their Tissot Superpole Race, followed by WorldSSP’s Race 2 at 14:30, and rounding out the festivities at 16:00 with WorldSBK’s Race 2.
